The Tom Pietrycha Trio

Tom Pietrycha (bass) – Upright and Electric Bassist Tom Pietrycha has been teaching and performing for over twenty years. Tom’s performing credits are diverse. He has been a member of The Farmington Symphony Orchestra, The Connecticut String Orchestra, and has performed with many jazz greats including Houston Person, Vincent Herring, Randy Johnston, Frank Wess, Eric Alexander, Jim Rotondi , Joel Frahm and the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra. Tom has also played on jingles for Tide and American Express, and toured with the Broadway show “Ain’t Misbehavin”. Tom continues to perform regularly in the greater New York area. Tom’s teaching credits include The Artists Collective, The Hartt School of Music, and the Hartford Conservatory. Tom joined the of Elefante Music in the fall of 2011. He is currently teaching Upright and Electric bass in all styles including Orchestral music, Jazz, Rock, and Funk.

Whether you’ve heard guitarist Dave Stryker fronting his own group (with 23 CD’s as a leader to date), or as a featured sideman with Stanley Turrentine, Jack McDuff, and many others, you know why Gary Giddins in the Village Voice calls him “one of the most distinctive guitarists to come along in recent years.” He was voted one of the Top Ten Guitarists in the 2001 Downbeat Readers poll, and a Rising Star for the last 5 years in the Downbeat Critics Poll. His approach combining the jazz burn to a soulful blues feeling is communicating to new fans wherever he plays. His most recent CD “Blue Strike” has made many Best of 2011 lists including WBGO Jazz Radio and Tom Reney/New England Public Radio.

The John Carlini Trio

John Carlini is a veteran guitarist and composer whose portfolio is a fascinating journey from classical to Broadway to jazz to bluegrass. An often-cited founding member of the seventies’ West Coast “New Acoustic Music” scene, he is also an acclaimed arranger, orchestrator, and conductor. His father was a violinist in the New York Philharmonic for 25 years and his mother, Phyllis Mansfield Carlini, was a nationally renowned concert pianist. As a teenager, John became mesmerized by the New York City bluegrass scene after discovering the Wheeling West Virginia Jamboree on the car radio. He had the good fortune to become friends with bluegrass fiddle great, Tex Logan. Through Tex, Carlini learned about the ‘heart and soul’ of bluegrass music.

Rick Crane is a local bassist from Verona NJ. He has performed and recorded with many jazz greats including Billy Eckstine, Tal Farlow, Kenny Baron, Richie Cole and most recently lifetime Grammy recipient Benny Golson. He has performed in London, Sweden, Japan, Moscow and all across the USA.

The Chad McLoughlin Trio

Chad McLoughlin is an accomplished, versatile, and innovative performing artist and composer. Originally from upstate New York, Chad began studying guitar as a child and has been performing professionally since the age of 13. His creative approach and virtuosity have impressed audiences throughout his career. He has received honors such as New York State’s Best Guitarist and the Capital District’s Best Guitarist. He now resides in New York City.

He is credited with performing and recording with a wide range of artists including David Kikoski, Bob Francesini, Ruben Rodriguez, Mike Stern, Richie Cannata, Chrisy Poland, Bob Meyer, David Sancious, Joel Rosenblatt, Gregg Bendain, Neil Alexander, Carlo Derosa, Utzi Zimring, Chuck Berry, Little Anthony, Manolo Badrena, David Torn, Ricky Nelson, Bo Diddley and many others.

The Martin Hoff Trio

Marty Hoff is a multi-instrumentalist playing the gamut of tenor, alto and soprano saxes, along with flute, trumpet, flugelhorn and piano. He will soon be adding a valve trombone as well. Playing straight ahead, funk and smooth jazz with a variety of instrumentation from guitar, bass, and trumpet along with computer generated music. The night will include solo guitar, solo piano and group selections.
